Hello there and welcome to this twelfth episode of the life stories of Leland Barney podcast. Your host, Christina Reidhead, conducts the interview.

Leland begins by talking about what he has done in Mexico, and how much he loves the country. He continues and says that he would love his kids to live the humble Mexican lifestyle. He then mentions how he used to go to a Mexican sandy beach with his wife.
He talks about how they came across some missionaries and had dinner with them and later drove them to their home. Leland declares about his love for Rocky Point and how it changed after a few hotels were built. That also resulted in many parties being thrown around there and drunkards lying all over.
As the episode wears on, he narrates about Jamie and his brothers, who moved legally to the USA. Barney says that Jamie’s sister, Delilah is political and she went to meet the president of Mexico twice last year.
He also talks about Manuel’s passion for giving all his vehicles to his kids. It came to a point where Barney and his brother had to fix a Prius and gift him the car with the condition that no one else got to drive it without him in it. He says that the boy is hardworking and just loves to help people. His son Luis is currently studying to be an agent in the Mexican government.
He also elaborates about on how Manuel is the kind of guy who takes his family for shopping but forgets to buy anything for himself. Leland then says that they love to spend their time with Manuel’s family. You can hear all these stories in this episode, just tune in.
