How Leland Barney used to go for Dances during his Divorce
Hello there and welcome to this eighth episode of the life stories of Leland Barney podcast. Mr. Leland shares a few stories with your host, Christine Reidhead.

When Barney was going through the divorce, he says that he was not sure what to do with his life at the time. He talks about Virginia, who was in charge of the singles thing and how she had encouraged him to go to Tucson for the singles dances.
In the early ’90s, he talks about when he had decided to date ten ladies and not kiss any of them. So, he got popular with the ladies for enjoying dancing alone, and without initiating any advanced moves or tactics. He recalls a time when he was dancing with one girl, and she asked the girl how many times she had been married. The lady said five times and Barney never knew if she was joking or not but Barney enjoyed being there.
He then narrates how he went dancing, every Thursday night, for one year with a lady. But the lady said that she wanted no relationship or attachments, she just wanted to have fun at the time.
As the episode goes on, he remembers when went back to Phoenix and realized that Phyllis and her mother had taken all of Barneys stuff out of the house.
He then talks about when he proposed in San Diego at the staircases of a temple and poured three cups of ice water before she said yes. Barney admits that he always feels blessed big time for his kids and appreciates how Christine and David usually express their love and gratitude.
