In the sixth episode of the Tom Davis leadership podcast, your host Christine Reidhead talks to Tom about creativity and diversity and the role that it plays in an organization.

He says that in the modern world, creativity should be the core value of an organization. He defines creativity as the way you take different ideas, emotions, stories, information and different ways of looking at things and blend them into a new whole.
Tom says that people should take advantage of a world that is becoming increasingly diverse more and more. He says that a leader has got to manage human relationships and set values within the organization. This effectively increases the tolerance between different people because diversity is the key to trying to exist in the current world.
Tom says that People within an organization should understand why diversity is important. They should know that creativity is one of the things that drives this world. He says that if you do not have a diverse enough population of creative people, then you are disadvantaged in terms of trying to make that organization work.
As the episode rolls on, Tom discusses How diversity relates to the marketplace. He says that one should understand the market and what people really need. He’s keen to state that if you don’t understand the different markets out there, then you lack a proper strategy for integrating into any market available. Diversity should be in your head and your way of thinking. This helps ultimately in coping and existing in a world that is often changing.
